Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
Location and Facilities
Delivery: Available in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport, or onsite statewide at your workplace.

PPE required:
Safety boots or enclosed shoes, long pants, and a hi‑vis short or long‑sleeve shirt.
Facilities include tea, coffee, biscuits and access to local food outlets.

Assessment Process
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and rescue breathing techniques on manikins.
